Auwen Events This August
August is packed. Between virtual workshops, an in-person hackathon, and two rounds of the TIAT Basement Beat Battle, there's a way to get involved whether you're brand new to Auwen or already deep into building sets. Everything below is also live on our Luma calendar, where you can RSVP directly.
Command Line Music - Virtual Workshops
Our recurring intro workshop, run entirely online. No prior coding or music experience needed - we cover installing Auwen, learning the interface, a collaborative jam session, and hands-on time making your first beat. Most people have their first beat down in about an hour, and are set-ready in 3-6 weeks of practice. Everyone leaves with Discord access for ongoing multiplayer jam sessions.

Command Line Music - Auwen Workshop (In Person)
Same curriculum as the virtual sessions, but live at 151 Powell St in San Francisco. Bring a laptop and headphones, and grab the download ahead of time to get the most out of class - water and snacks recommended, it's information-dense.

Auwen Hackathon @ TIAT & Virtual
For anyone who's already made music with Auwen and wants to level up. A full day of multiplayer sessions, sound bank building, live set practice, and artist profile work, capped off with group dinner at a Thai restaurant. Beginners are welcome if self-directed. Join in person at TIAT (1 PM-9 PM) or virtually via Discord in the #hackathon channel.

TIAT Basement Beat Battle
A casual, collaborative beat-making night in TIAT's basement. A flash drive circulates so everyone contributes a sample, then circulates again so everyone can grab the full pool. From there, you build a beat using only those samples - no outside sounds allowed - and every finished beat plays on the venue sound system. No experience necessary, teaming up is encouraged, and contributions go toward a summer compilation on Bandcamp.
